Christine Norris

I started running in 1997 at the age of  49.

My first  run was the Lung  run in Sutton Park, Birmingham.  My brother-in-law had joined Aldridge running club and talked me into doing a charity run.

The following year was quite something, I reached the big 50.   I became a Grandma for the first time to triplet boys, the most fantastic and life changing event possible.

With the safe arrival of the boys  I wanted to do something special so I entered London by way of a charity place.  I chose MACS who help children with sight problems.

I can say I havn`t looked back since joining the Peelers, I may be a 4ft 10", 60 yr old woman but I`m out there having a good go.

Best Marathon time :-       4hrs.   36mins              (would love 4.30)             Total  17

Best half time:-                  2hrs

Best 10k:-                        54.45

I enjoy the challenge of the Belvoir, Grizzly, Snowdon , Race the Train and the Malvern.

The people, the atmosphere, the encouragement and the achievement at the end of a race is well worth all the training runs.

I have made some great running friends and  shall keep filling in those entry forms.
