John Norris
I joined the Peelers in 1997 and have received lots of encouragement from members over the years. I have a very competitive nature regarding my runs and have therefore been talked into doing tough and challenging events.
Apart from the usual 10ks, half and full marathons one of my goals was to do the across Wales in 2006. This was a gruelling hard 45 miles which I did on my 60th birthday. I came back with plenty of memories of the day plus a badly sprained ankle. Luckily it didn’t stop me partying a week later in true Peeler style.
Best times 10k 42 min
Half marathon 1hr 33min
Full marathon 3hr 28 min
Poppy line 50
Across Wales ( just doing it is enough for me)
Malvern 33miles
I can`t say I enjoy the actual running but the feeling (when I`ve recovered) after is good.
My only running claim to fame is coming first in my age category at the Kingsbury Classic and Aldridge 10k. I have been voted best over 50 male veteran for the last four years.
Me preparing for the grizzly!!!
